Creating a Legacy in Business or in the Community -
“History will be kind to me because I intend to write it.” ~Unknown
What do you want your legacy to be? Never thought about it before? Women today are far busier than our grandmothers or even our mothers ever were. From being a mother to wife to student to now being an entrepreneur, our legacy - that which you will leave behind you - is in jeopardy. That fact of the matter is that when it comes to talking about legacy, women hesitate because it seems too self-centered. But I argue that we, as women of today, need to start preparing and designing our own legacy. It is not a matter of self-centeredness, but of creating a roadmap or blueprint for future generations
Why Isn't Your Relationship Working? Because You Need to Fire Your Representative -
I have been married for nine years, and I am being real honest with you when I tell you that the first seven years where HELL! My husband and I didn’t really talk to one another or share our thoughts and dreams, so when things went awry, well, you can imagine the tempers having their say. In short, we cut each other deeply with our words and the reactive actions that soon followed those heated fights…to the point where we ended up in marriage counseling.
Grateful -
Wow! What a year so far! Time is moving quickly, but I am not scared one bit. I made a vow to myself that this would be the year of wisdom for me. I have lived far too long with mistakes – financial, emotional and spiritual – that have nearly cost me my joy.
Why is it that we don’t use that word anymore to describe the kind of life we want for ourselves, truly? Are we afraid of the word because it implies a sort of arrogance to feel like one has arrived…to wherever that may be? I don’t think so. In fact, I refuse to believe that I do not deserve to have joy and then proclaim it to the world.
I am Joy -
God called me today, although I thought I was calling Him. I was pulled to my knees to pray – a tug on my heart and womanly intuition called me to Him. He directed me to James 1-2. I read it. I needed it. Something had been waiting there for me and it was this: “faith without works is dead.” I had long since come to believe and know that God won’t bless you until you show Him your Faith in action. It is about action.
Prayer is a Two-Way Street Called Grace -
I am being haunted or rather stalked by this verse: “You pray for me. I’ll pray for you, and watch God change things.”
It has not only been playing over and over in my head like a broken record, but it seems like every time I turn on the radio, it’s there – playing in supersonic mode.
You see, I’ve been praying for wisdom lately and here it is written down and made plain. We are not praying for one another…truly. We are so caught up in what’s happening in our little soap opera worlds that we have forgotten that prayer is a two-way street and that Grace is a prayer away.

Taking Care of Self Inside & Out - Women today are more stressed and pressed than our mothers and grandmothers ever were. We are wives, mothers, businesswomen, students, grandmothers, employees, etc. Unfortunately, because of the many roles we play, women are dying of strokes and heart attacks in record numbers. Even the statistics for suicide among women is unusually high. So, how can we, women of the 21st Century, manage our many roles and health? Here are five strategies that were created with you, your life and your budget in mind.
When God Says Yes, It's Time to Let it Go -
The last four years as an entrepreneur have been very trying for me and my Faith. With bill collectors abound and pressure from home to get "a real job," I am ready to run for the hills, never to be seen again.
My problem is I let my worries get the best of me sometimes. I can't seem to only focus on the day's problems. I think about weeks of problems. But there's a verse that crept into my spirit the other day when I was yet again lamenting about my dilemmas: "Sufficient for the day is its own trouble" (Matthew The Wise Woman in Me - Proverbs 14:1 says, "The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands."
Are you the wise woman who is building her home with the knowledge and information gathered throughout 2007? Have you built your Crying Angel Network and used it to help you move through the valley? Or are you the foolish woman who has ignored sound advice and shut out the Network because you feel that God has not answered any of your prayers so why bother?
Happiness is a State of Mind, but so is Unhappiness
I was recently asked to speak to a networking group of women accountants about keeping a positive attitude during these rough economic times. I thought long and hard about the topic before I realized that these are not just rough economic times, but that it’s life. Our world is no more challenging than the world of 3 or 4 generations ago. The roughness fits the times, so to speak. Still, we all could use some reinforcement in our journey through this life and times, so here are five tools to help you.
